Checked Windows Update, and the browser ballot was on the list of updates, but I'm never gonna install it, and it came up on Windows Update on my brother's computer, but he says he won't install 'patronizing crap' on his computer.

ballout screen should pop up on next boot and there should be icon on your desktop. If this is not the case check in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\BrowserChoice] in case you have "Enable"=dword:00000000 . I'm intergrating this update in to my unatteded install, since i dont want it to bug me over WU but using that registry setting to not get popup/icon, because im using IE anyway.

Maybe i didn't make myself clear before. My friends from other region manually download the update, installed and it's running so not only in Europe that's why i created this topic.

I think i found the answer on other forum:

1.If the Windows machine has any other browser than IE installed prior to the first boot after installing the update, ballot is not shown. IE can but must not be the default browser, it seems the ballot assumes the choice is made when user has installed additional browsers

2.If the Windows machine has only IE installed prior to the first boot after installing the update, the ballot of 12 browsers is shown:

3.Even if the user wants to keep IE as the only (default) browser and chooses not to install any additional browser, he / she must 'install' IE by clicking the appropriate button. If user chooses not to install any browser, not even IE, but instead closes the window it causes IE to disappear from Start Menu and Taskbar:

User must in this case manually re-pin IE to Start Menu and Taskbar, although it disappears once again after next reboot if again no browser is chosen.

You can, however default value if not set is 1 anyway.
