I got an email yesterday from Register.com saying that they are giving out free domains for a week. If you want yours, go to Register.com.
I haven't figured out how to get past the credit card page, which is a problem because it means that they can auto-renew the domain on you at the end of the year. If you figure out how, you can post it.

Back in Jan, i registered there and i didn't have to pay for anythign, They didn't have to get my credit card info. The renew rate is 30 dollars. Just go to 1&1.com or Godaddy.com Its not worth it from register. Unless your just creating a 1 year website.
